We Claim God’s Favor …

Do You?

Have you ever had anyone say to you, “Boy, you’re lucky!” I’m sure you have, and, I’m also sure that, like us, you have said, “Christians aren’t lucky, we’re Blessed.” Recently, however, I have discovered that there is more to it than just a random Blessing here and there. You see, these Blessings are not the cause of a Christian’s good fortune, they are the effect. The truth of the matter is summed up in Psalms 5:12For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as [with] a shield.

For years, nay decades!, I have maintained that if we find Favor with God we will find Favor with man. While that is most profound, and I would love to take credit for it, I can’t. You see, this is a scriptural sentiment, as we find in Luke 2:52And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

As Christians, as we daily pursue our Faith Walk and increase in wisdom, we, too, will increase in favor!

Now, the thing of the thing is, we have the rightto claim God’s Favor. We see this reflected in Psalm 90:17Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!” I realize you may be thinking, “Now, Floyder, that sounds all well and good, but how does that translate to real life?” Well, I’ll tell you.

Whenever my wife and I are dealing with a person, or a business entity, we expect the best of that situation to come our way. We think of the best possible scenario, and that’s what we claim. You see, in doing this, we are “Claiming the Favor of God!” And, as a result, we have a lot of people tell us, “Boy, you’re lucky!” The GOOD NEWS is you, too, can claim the Favor of God! It is not just something you pursue, it’s something that, through Faith, you expect to happen. And, it does!
