NOW I’m a Christian Writer!

As you may know, I have been pursuing my Writing Career, in one manner or another, for some 58 years! There have been a number of “ups and downs,” as you can well imagine. In the beginning is when I experienced the “downs,” and for the last 35 years I have been Blessed with a great number of “ups.” In the past five years or so, however, I have noticed that my Writing Career has morphed, and that is what I want to share with you today!

For many, many, many years I did not identify myself as a “Christian Writer.” Rather, I described myself as “A Writer who is a Christian.” The reason I made this distinction is because most of the articles that I was getting published were not Christian in nature. They dealt with everything from airplanes to horses, construction companies to wildlife. The magazines that agreed to work with me were eclectic to say the very least, and I Praised God that I was being Blessed by all of these Publications as I found Favor with their Editors.

Now, during this time, I was conducting my Writing Business based on Biblical Principles. I stayed true to my Christian Tenets and, as a result, was greatly Blessed. As a result, this made me “A Writer who was a Christian!”

In the past five years, however, I have been “semi-retired.” As a result, I now find myself writing for pleasure, if you would. This includes my Blog; writing for GOD’S GOOD NEWS GAZETTE; and completing a plethora of books, ranging from a Bible Study on the book of ECCELESIASTES to one that deals with THE POWER OF THE TONGUE!

The thing is, everything I write now does deal with God, THE BIBLE, or my Faith Walk. So, when people ask me today, “What do you do?” I reply, “I’m a Christian Writer.”

So, you may be thinking, “What is the GOOD NEWS today?” Well, it is simply this … No matter what our occupation is, we can identify ourselves with Christ, as I did for over thirty years when I would say, “I’m not a Christian Writer, but I am a Writer who is a Christian!”
