THIS ISSUE’S THOUGHT PROVOKER

But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother WITHOUT A CAUSE shall be in danger of the judgment:
Matthew 5:22a
So … if we have a cause is it ok for us to be Angry? Now THAT is an interesting question, thought, concept! Here are a few other verses to consider in regard to this:
- Eph. 4:26 – Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
- Gal. 5:22-23 – 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Just for the sake of discussion, let’s say that with a cause, it is ok to be Angry. What would be a justifiable cause? If someone lies to us? If they rob from us? If they commit adultery with our spouse? If our spouse commits adultery? If they beat us out for a promotion at work? If they take our Parking Spot? If they are better looking, more talented, wealthier than us? If they belittle, mock, or torment us? If they physically or mentally abuse us? If they disrespect, lie about, or ridicule us? If they have more friends than us?
Here’s another question: Who gets to determine what a justifiable cause is? You? Me? Society? The Preacher? The Court System? Not exactly an easy situation, is it? The GOOD NEWS is that the easiest thing to do is don’t allow yourself to get Angry!!! Remember, like Happiness, Anger is a choice. Also remember this … “He who makes us Angry controls us!!!” Now cogitate on that for a minute!
