There is, either spoken or unspoken, a major tenet to modern day Business success that has proven its worth over and over. It is such a rudimentary foundational building block that we all grow up repeating the axiom that sums up its entirety: “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know!”

The idea of “knowing people” is furthered by the formation of such groups as College Fraternities, Fraternal Organizations, and even Clubs and Associations. For decades a “golf date” had a lot more to do with conducting business than hitting a golf ball.

Networking, as we know it, started to become prevalent in the late 18th Century with the advent of the Industrial Revolution. Due to mobility and flexibility, the idea of individuals Networking on their own has become both commonplace and virtually mandatory. However, the greatest example of Networking of all time began in approximately 30 AD. And, it was started by none other than Jesus Christ!

Think about it: When He started out on His ministry He was all alone. Then, He “expanded” by “recruiting” twelve companions we know as the Twelve Disciples. They met frequently, breaking bread and raising people from the dead!

In Luke 10:1 we find Jesus has expanded His group quite considerably:

After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

By the time of His ascension, He has a core group of 120, as we find in

Acts 1:15And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty. From Acts 1:15 to Acts 2:41 the number ballooned dramatically! Acts 2:41

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

There you have it – – the recorded sequence of Jesus’ Networking efforts: 1 – 12 – 70 – 120 -3000!!! And, it didn’t stop there! According to whose research you believe, there are approximately 2.2 BILLION Christians in the world today. I am sure, though I have no idea what it may be, that there is an algorithm that would allow us to calculate how many Christians have lived since the 1st Century AD until today, but I am going to assume that the answer is “a lot!” In fact, as of 2020 this would represent approximately 32% of the earth’s population! Now that’s Networking!

The GOOD NEWS is that if you aren’t already, you can be a part of that 32%! The remarkable thing is, once you join the ranks you will have a nearly uncontrollable urge to share the GOOD NEWS with others, and you will find that as the Networking goes on and on and you are a part of it!!!
